Yasmin Vantuykom: Podcast Scrollaholics is live #58

The body keeps score; it remembers
what the mind tries to forget.

October 2025

This Week on "Workaholics"...

We’re officially live with the second season of Scrollaholics! Honestly, I can’t believe we made it—weeks of preparation, last-minute guest cancellations that had me questioning my life choices, audio issues that made me sound like I had a chronic cold, and recording days so long that I started talking to the furniture just to stay sane.

And let’s not even talk about doing all of this while my husband was out of town… because apparently, life loves to test your multitasking skills under maximum pressure.

A huge thank you to Acerta Belgium, without their support, this season simply wouldn’t exist. And of course, a massive shoutout to Four Roses Belgium for taking one look at me, a decidedly non-fashionable girl, and turning me into someone who looks like she kind of knows what she’s doing. Styling miracles, people. Absolute miracles.

How can your body hold trauma without you even knowing it? And what if silence feels more uncomfortable than the chaos of your screen?

90% of all doctor visits originate from emotions. Our bodies store trauma and emotions in muscle tissue, which can cause complaints even years later. Host Yasmin Vantuykom talks with Tom De Prest, neurotherapist and author of The Comfort Crisis. Tom shares his fascinating work on emotional release and explains that the solution isn’t just talking about trauma, it’s literally freeing stuck emotions from the body.

We live in the most comfortable era in human history, but our 200,000-year-old bodies aren’t adapted to it. The neurological effects of screen use are also clear: your dopamine system is stimulated at times when you actually need to rest, which directly impacts your immunity. Tom advises: change the word “must” to “may.” Many people are kind to the outside world but extremely harsh on themselves. Observe your inner dialogue and be gentle with yourself.

Yasmin Vantuykom: Newsletter #65 Belief is what you do before the numbers agree. February 2025 This Week on "Scrollaholics"... I didn’t write a newsletter lately because work has been… loud. Not “busy” loud. More like existential spreadsheet loud. Because here’s the part nobody romanticizes: it takes a very specific kind of belief to keep going when the math isn’t rewarding you yet. When you’re doing a lot, reinvesting everything, and the numbers don’t reflect the effort. When progress is...

Yasmin Vantuykom: Newsletter #64 Not everything needs celebrating. But progress deserves tracking. December 2025 This Week on "Scrollaholics"... Since 2020, I’ve been keeping a Tada-Da list next to my To-Do list. It’s a simple habit: capturing what has actually been delivered, especially the things that, a year earlier, were still just plans. Here’s what made the list recently: A real leap into a new space. From concept to physical product, and from solo building to an expert community,...

Yasmin Vantuykom: Newsletter #63 The new status symbol? Being offline. November 2025 This Week on "Scrollaholics"... Offline is the new luxury. At least, that’s what Vogue says. Brands are leaning into analog experiences, tactile materials, and slower ways of living, because apparently, scrolling less is suddenly chic. Tote bags filled with books, puzzles, and journals are trending on TikTok. A flip phone or “no followers” status? Instant cool. Wearing yesterday’s micro-trends online is...
