Yasmin Vantuykom: 250 in stock, 500 on the way… and lessons learned #56

Calm isn’t no chaos. It’s figuring
it out step by step.

October 2025

This Week on "Workaholics"...

October will be a rollercoaster.

The podcast goes live on 21/10, the first 250 Quyet Home units finally arrived, and the next 500 are already on their way for Christmas.

But getting here wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. A truck carrying 400kg of materials showed up at my house instead of the assembly place. My wood supplier went dark, leaving me unsure if delivery would happen at all. And the felt shipment? It went from the Port of Antwerp → Germany → France before finally reaching the assembly place in... Antwerp.

Honestly, I didn’t know if any of it would line up — if the timing would hold, if the product would even fit as planned. You know the drill: panic, deep breaths, …

The first real milestone? We delivered our first 55 units to a B2B partner. A small milestone with big meaning — proof that what lived in my head is now out in the world, being used by real people in real spaces.

Book tip

From idea to reality:

  • Start before you feel ready
    • There’s never a perfect moment. I doubted the timing, the suppliers, even the fit of the product — but moving anyway was the only way to find out. Example: we launched the product before stock even arrived, and it created momentum instead of waiting for ‘perfect’.
  • Make it real as soon as possible
    • An idea in your head feels safe, but only when it hits the real world do you learn if it works. Eg: the first 55 units we delivered showed me how the product actually lands in a team, not just in a prototype.
  • Find calm in the chaos
    • Entrepreneurship often feels like keeping calm while the house is on fire. The trick is not avoiding the fire — it’s learning to breathe through it. Example: when stock was delayed, instead of panicking we doubled down on pre-orders and ordered stock at a new supplier.

💡 A small action, a thank-you:
If you pre-order my book via Standaard Boekhandel and pick it up in-store,
you’ll receive a personal 15% discount on the Quyet Home — as a thank-you for your trust and support. (which basically means the book is for free)

Yasmin Vantuykom: Newsletter #64 Not everything needs celebrating. But progress deserves tracking. December 2025 This Week on "Scrollaholics"... Since 2020, I’ve been keeping a Tada-Da list next to my To-Do list. It’s a simple habit: capturing what has actually been delivered, especially the things that, a year earlier, were still just plans. Here’s what made the list recently: A real leap into a new space. From concept to physical product, and from solo building to an expert community,...

Yasmin Vantuykom: Newsletter #63 The new status symbol? Being offline. November 2025 This Week on "Scrollaholics"... Offline is the new luxury. At least, that’s what Vogue says. Brands are leaning into analog experiences, tactile materials, and slower ways of living, because apparently, scrolling less is suddenly chic. Tote bags filled with books, puzzles, and journals are trending on TikTok. A flip phone or “no followers” status? Instant cool. Wearing yesterday’s micro-trends online is...

Yasmin Vantuykom: Newsletter #62 Experience offline. November 2025 This Week on "Scrollaholics"... Our first Quyet X Scrollaholics event!
